Los Angeles Harbor Lighthouse

"Angels Gate"

A Research Project

 Last updated 06/19/09

Welcome to the future website exclusively devoted to Los Angeles Harbor Light Station.

At this time we are still doing research. Our goal is to complete a research paper on the history and facts concerning this lighthouse. In addition to making copies of this research paper available to recognized lighthouse interest organizations, we will also make the report available on this or a similar website.

Los Angeles Harbor Light Station (also known as "Angels Gate", LOSA Light, Los Angeles Light, Los Angeles Harbor Lighthouse, L.A. Light and San Pedro Breakwater Light) was constructed in 1913 at the end of the San Pedro Breakwater. It was operated by the United States Lighthouse Service until 1939 when the United States Coast Guard took over management. It was manned until 1972 and now operates automatically using solar power.

If you have anything you would like to contribute to this research project your involvement will be very appreciated. We are looking for the following:
